“Stop came from my inability to do just that. It’s a song about stopping, breathing, being present in whatever moment you’re in and finding the beauty in it.”- Anthony Ramos

Today, celebrated actor and singer Anthony Ramos (Rah-mos) returns with a brand new single and music video entitled “Stop.”

Church bells, handclaps, and shimmering keys carry this upbeat reminder to “carpe diem” as Ramos locks into impressive vocal runs, nimbly rhymed verses, and a powerhouse hook. He urges, “There’s so much more to discover if you, Stop, breathe it in for a moment.” The accompanying visual seamlessly reflects this spirit. Directed by Blythe Thomas, the cinematic clip follows Brooklyn artist and stylist Anthony Payne. After losing his job at a hair salon in the midst of the Global Pandemic, he grabbed his scissors and comb and decided to bring some light into the world following the tragic murder of George Floyd. The video depicts Payne as he cuts hair outdoors in Brooklyn and supports Black Lives Matter by donating proceeds. It also intercuts footage of Ramos canvasing the streets, linking up with Payne, and delivering a subtle and well-placed message, “VOTE.” About “Stop,” Ramos shared, “Stop came from my inability to do just that. It’s a song about stopping, breathing, being present in whatever moment you’re in and finding the beauty in it.”
This multi-talented force continues to make headlines. He recently joined forces with Storybooth to produce an animated tribute to Black Lives Matter. The collaboration showcases 12-year-old Keedron Bryant’s unofficial Black Lives Matter anthem “I Just Wanna Live.” Watch HERE.
