TOKISCHA AND PAULUS MUSIC SIGN AGREEMENT AND CELEBRATE WITH NEW DEMBOW "TUKUNTASO"

TOKISCHA AND PAULUS MUSIC SIGN DEAL WITH ROC NATION’S EQUITY DISTRIBUTION AND CELEBRATE WITH NEW DEMBOW “TUKUNTASO” FEAT. HARACA KIKO AND EL CHERRY SCOM

Tokischa, the fearless, iconoclastic, sex-positive rapper and dembow star, together with her record label Paulus Music, have signed a distribution deal with Equity Distribution, Roc Nation’s indie distribution company.

The deal came about thanks to Dominican radio host and producer Alofoke, who linked Tokischa with Roc Nation. He has been championing her as the next big thing out of the Dominican Republic and worked hard to make the connection with Equity and Roc Nation as he felt it would be the best place to internationalize Tokischa’s career.

Equity’s goal is to help create a viable path to sustained growth for every independent artist they work with, so they can remain in control of their careers. They empower the artists and labels by providing a home for them to grow and a team to support them — including digital strategy support, marketing services, synch and playlist promotion, and publishing administration — without taking their masters or limiting their freedom of movement.

To celebrate this milestone, Tokischa is dropping her new single and music video “Tukuntaso,” a quirky track featuring the Dominican Republic's top dembow personalities Haraca Kiko and El Cherry Scom.

Tukuntaso” honors the rapper's peculiar sense of lyricism, style, and attitude, serving as a follow-up to controversial chart-toppers “Desacato Escolar” and “El Rey de la Popola,” songs that garnered her a lot of visibility for her unapologetic way of celebrating women’s sexual pleasure and her no-f*cks-given attitude.

The music video was directed by Paulus Music’s own Raymi Paulus, serving a festive vibe that aligns with the label’s alien, unbothered aesthetic, a style that has become essential to all of Tokischa’s videos.

About Tokischa:

Tokischa has proven to be an unconventional force compared to the squeaky-clean image most women in mainstream Latin urban music portray. Her gritty and raw attitude, pro-sexual liberation lyrics, bright colors, and overall unapologetic fashion taste she's dubbed #trapterretre has set her apart from the rest.

About Paulus Music:

Founded by Raymi Paulus, Paulus Music has become the home for Dominican dembow and trap movement’s stoners, misfits, and freaks. Through surreal, cartoonish releases and videos, Paulus Music has exploded any bounded sense of what dembow and trap should look and sound like.
